Shirley Adams passion has long been in the fiber arts, which have inspired her several careers.

First came years as a college professor of clothing and textiles which led her to develop The Sewing Connection television series which aired throughout the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Designing fashions for 17 seasons resulted in a vast pattern collection for fashion sewing where engineer's mind meets artist's soul.

Her art includes framed abstracts and wearables. Shirley makes each piece from an image or an emotion. Available in galleries and art shows.

Shirley Adams, Artist
Shirley's love of art began as a child, and continued throughout her academic career. After obtaining her first degree of science from Indiana University, she began teaching first at Ben Davis High School, then at Ball State University where she created a four year degree in Fashion Merchandising and Clothing and Textiles. During this time, she completed two more degrees from Ball State and Butler University.

In the late 80's she and her husband, John, moved to Cleveland where she began working with local public television on a weekly program regarding the sewing industry.

In 1990, she and John moved back to the Hendricks County area and began work on her long running television series, The Sewing Connection.

After a lifetime of producing work for education, she decided to make something for herself.
